Hi Edgar,
The first sovjet tank entered Czernowith and remained on the Ringplatz
After the chaotic retreat of the german dismemberd army through Czernowitz, all the jews who were able to walk, came out from theire hidden places…I was there too, to welcome the salvators…Young girls gave flowers to our eliberators, only the ucrainian “Hausmeister”, who worked with the SS and showed them where live Jews, disappeared, or hidden and than to appear, the poors. or run away with the roumanian army..
