The General Assembly of the “Czernowitz Old Choral Synagogue” and the elections for the board took place in April 1934. 96 out of 117 members attended the assembly and elected, under the direction of state prosecutor Axani (?!), as follows:

Abraham Kogan: I don’t know who invented the term “alte”. Any reference to that synagogue among people who knew or heard about Pinie Spektor was “die Khor Shil”. I was there, even before I joined the choir, as a soprano. On the holidays, among the Hassidim of various Czernowitzer Rebbes, it became almost a tradition to go to the Khor Shil to enjoy the wonderful melodies. Pinie Spektor was quite a religious musical personality. My late father and many of his friends used to take there their whole family.
Undersigned were 6 year old at the time but visited my grandfather,so often
heard the meaningful -unique- interpretations of Pinje Spektor.
