I just spotted this on the Czernowitz City Council web site.
I didn't know that Nazareth-Illit was twinned with Czernowitz. Might just
be a way of effecting some influence on the City Council?

Nazareth-Illit Has Celebrated its 50-th Anniversary
The city of Nazareth-Illit, the sister-city of Chernivtsi, has celebrated
its 50-th anniversary since the time of its foundation.
On this occasion Chernivtsi delegation was invited by Mayor of
Nazareth-Illit Menahem to come to the city. Under the guidance of Mayor
Mykola Fedoruk the delegation has visited Israel and participated in
solemnities.
The delegation met with city leaders, Deputy of Knesset from Nazareth-Illit
Ms. Lia Shemtov, creative intellectuals, including former Chernivtsi citizen
Arkadiy Agashkin.
During the meetings the possibilities of deepening relations between our
cities and investment from Israel into Chernivtsi economy were discussed.
Mayor of Chernivtsi Mykola Fedoruk invited Mayor Menahem Ariav with
delegation to participate in celebration of Chernivtsi 600-th anniversary.
