Frieda you probably went to the only Russian
school open to local people, the other was
reserved for Russians coming to Czernowitz from
other places of the URSS and speaking Russian as
native language. The school you mention was a
little across to the south of the entrance to the
Volksgarten and up to that time had been a sort
of convent I was there in 1940/1 in the 4th grade
The Oltea Doamna was on one tram station to the
north, nearer to the center of the town
