1. Jane Rostos' Solka story is now in the 'Stories, Histories, Trip
Reports' section. This is the story of the Sanatorium at Solka Romania
which was started by Joe Poras' great grandfather in 1876 and the recent
efforts to save it from the wrecking ball (item #20).
2. Through the courtesy of Ya'akov Katz, a 1935 photograph of A+B
classes at Czernowitz's Elite School graces our home page now (where the
map used to be). Are you in the picture; do you recognize anyone? You
may have to use your 'refresh or reload' button on your browser to bring
up the photo rather than the map.
3. A scholarly paper delivered by Dr.Robert Rosner of Vienna on the
history of Scientists and Mathematicians at the Czernowitz University
during the Habsburg era is available in the 'Stories, Histories, ...'
section of the website. It's in pdf format (item #21).
4. The 'Links' section has been updated with the addition of a link to
Reinhold Czarny's site about his Picture CD (over 1,000 recent pictures
of Czernowitz) and other materials he has available. The site is in
German.
