As far as I know, Yechupetz is a fictional place created by Sholom Aleichem from whence his fictional character, Menachem Mendel originated.

My Czernowitzer Mother (of blessed memory) used to refer to that totally out
of the way place as "Yechupetz"--does that ring any bells?
