Subject: RE: [Cz-L] Looking ahead
Dear Gabriele,
I am sorry, but I do not have time to answer you today in detail,
because I am for two days in Paris for a meeting. I just wanted
to say you that the idea of a meeting for the 100 years of the first
world conference on the Yiddish seems to me excellent. It is true
that, on my academic side, I see the academix aspect rather that the
commemoration one. But I think that we can join the both. I
know some researchers who worked and wrote on the subject (even if
they are not Bucovinians and we could perhaps plan to ask them to
join us. I also think that if we consider a conference, we could
rather easily obtain funds from several French and American foundations.
Let us speak, if you want, when I return in Jerusalem and especially after
the
our Workshop on Transnistria of May 20-21. I really
think that we could organize a very interesting international conference
in Czernowitz and I do not see why the Ukrainian authorities
would not help us.
With my best regards
Florence
