Dear Lenore,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry it took me a while to answer.

I read with much attention your email but I am afraid that these names are
not familiar to me. I do know the names of my grandparents. They were Moses
(Moshe) and Toni. They lived in Czernowitz until the 2nd World War. I
believe that they died in Transnistria but I do not have clear evidence of
this fact.

Toni, my grandmother had a maiden name of Gelles. Moses was, of course,
Reder.

So, at the first impression, it seems that there is no connection.

However, I do know a few facts that my father told me (he is no longer
alive) that seem sort of similar to what you are writing.

The name of the father of Moses reder was Abraham (would be my great
grandfather). He was Heker, according to my father. Since they married only
in the synagogue, he got the name of the mother, Reder. Of course, Keker
is not Heuer but there is only letter of a difference. I also know that
Moses Reder was born in Snyatin in 1888 and then he moved to Czernowitz.
So, would it be possible that one of the names of the children , David and
Manya, was actually Moses? I think it is unlikely but better ask you.

So, if you think that there is a chance that we are relatives, please let
me know. I certainly would be very interested, specially since until
today I was not able to get confirmation on what happened with Moses, Toni
and their children (with the exception, of course, of my father, that
survived the war).

Best regards.

Moshe
