Dear All,
I urge you to sign the petition against exonerating Antonescu.
We owe it to his victims and to future generations.
To those who read Ukrainian, please search Chernivtsi websites
and newspapers to find out whether there really is a proposal
to raise a monument to Petljura, and if this ir really the case,
we should object through official channels, such as Ukrainian consulates
or embassies in the countries we live in and through our consulates and
embassies in the Ukraine.
For the last few month, with the help and advice of Christian Herrmann,
I have been working on a project to get the cemetery cleared
of weeds and bushes and the path repaved. This work to be done
by a group of volunteers who would provide their own finances
for this project.I hope to know more about the prospects for the success
of this project in the next few weeks. In the past, whenever we discussed
the cleaning or clearing of the cemetery, we have been told that
unreasonably large sums of money would be involved. In no case could we
be sure
that this money, if raised, would go to the purpose we intend it for.
I therefore hope that the project Christian and I are working on, will
be successful and ask all of you to please give us a chance to work on
it
for 6 more weeks and only then attempt to pressure the Chernivtsi city
authorities to do something about the preservation of the cemetery.
Mimi
