Edgar,

I am surprised to find out that so much information exists on the subject. I
also keep surprising myself by wanting to know more about the tragic fate of
my family. I wish I had more free time at my disposal to do that.

On the other hand, my father, Oscar Kraft, who went on a long, obsessive
and, ultimately successful, search in the 60s (while we were still living in
Cz) didn't leave us any information except for a confronting photograph of
my grandfather as a GULAG prisoner.

Thank you for directing me (and others) to these links.

Best wishes from a hot Australian summer,

Serah

Serah...

Thank you so much for your mails concerning the deportation from Bucovina to
Kazakhstan and/or Siberia in 1940/1941. No doubt about, much more lists must
be available at different archives in Russia and Ukraine. In my posting

http://ehpes.com/blog1/2013/01/17/cry-of-desperation-from-siberia-via-shanghai-to-czernowitz/

you'll find a link to the All Russia Family Tree (Russian) Forum

http://forum.vgd.ru/post/622/24868/p485658.htm (apparently temporarily
off-line)

and as far as I could follow - as non-Russian speaker - the thread, the
forum members referred to additional sources stored at various Russian
archives or NGO's. As you know, the listing, which I've published, came from

http://www.memo.ru/eng/index.htm

the historical and civil rights society, which focuses on recording the
Soviet Union's totalitarian past. I do hope, that you'll find out more on
this subject and, if so, please share your finding with all of us.

Warmest wishes from (today) Germany and have an amazing week!
