Again I want to defend our parents and grandparents
who left Czernowitz after WW2 or shortly before it.
"They did not adapt"
What was there to adapt to?
Corruption? Discrimination? a hopeless future for your children?
Resilience - is surviving and adapting to difficult circumstances
when you have no alternative.
It is not banging your head against a wall, when you can get out the door.
