Very succinctly but poetically put. Thank you so much, Hardy, for
describing life for Bukovina Jews under the Habsburg rule so poetically and yet
succinctly. You make it sound like a kind of "Camelot" my father, a
Czernowitz native, used to recall, which was primarily the reason I joined the Cz
List. Thanks again.

But we are Jews of the East from the" Fiddler on the Roof" land.
We had a short encounter with the Habsburgs which became
a love affair.
But the groom eloped and left us stranded on the banks
of the Prut.
Other winds were blowing but we remained faithful to
our romantic dreams.
Then we left, taking the dream with us.
For as long as we live.
