Please be aware that Gregory Wallance who authored America's Soul in the Balance will be speaking in NYC at the Museum of Tolerance on Feb 21 at 7 pm. His book dealing with the U.S. state department's knowledge of and suppression of Transistria was well written. I suspect many of us will want to learn more about his insights. I am hoping to be there. Unfortunately I do not think my mother who was the sole survivor in her family of Bershad could bear the program. However I hope to get my dad to attend. It might be a good place for many of us to assemble

Besides the examples of brutal killings you mention, let us not forget Vapniarka where inmates were knowingly poisoned with a diet made of peas known to be lethal to humans, a diet the guards did not partake of. The Romanian Holocaust followed different patterns than what has come to be recognized as "The Holocaust" internationally and so there is still a great deal of work to be done to gain this recognition and set the historical record straight.
