The Chernovtsy of today is a sad place even if you compare it to Chernovtsy
of the Soviet times that was obviously worse off than a pre-war
Chernauti.and Czernowitz.

People who never lived in that place have no idea what's going on there (or
in Ukraine) today. It is not a Western world as we know it. I have close
relatives and friends who live there.

I am sometimes surprised how confidently the List members form their
opinions only because it conveniently reflects their world views.

Has anyone thought that the dramatic drop in Chernivtsy's.population in the
1990s occurred because of the mass exodus of the Jews following the
Perestroika and the famous radiation scare when hundreds of children got
sick and their hair started falling out?

Sure, other nationalities left as well. But why would they all leave in a
hurry such a promising life in Samostiyna Ukraina's paradise?

As long as a Soviet period of Cz and its large and thriving Jewish
population of 50 000 or 60 000 is ignored and dismissed by some of the List
members, no truthful history of Bukovina can be re-created.

And now you can attack me.
