Cornel, I will not shout at you. Most, or all, stores factories
and offices, which till the summer of 1940 were owned
either by Jews or non Jews, were confiscated by the Soviets.
When the Romanians returned in 1941, they confiscated
the Jewish commercial properties, but let those Jews,
who were not deported, remain in their apartments.
Then the Russians returned, all commercial properties
were taken over by the government, but I do not know whether
they only officially confiscated apartments which were deserted
or all apartments. I also do not know, whether currently,
the people who live in the houses or apartments once owned,
by those who left the city, own these dwellings or rent them
from the state or the city.
Does anyone know definitely?
