Thank you All for this work !
Everything in this story is fascinating . Every document brings new
questions.
At least we are happy to know that Alma survived !
What happened to the other persons?
Is the writer of the desperate postcard the same Alma from the wedding
picture?
I have 2 very similar wedding pictures in our family - from the early
1920s.
The postcard is very surprising: it was sent from Novosibirsk in September
1941 and in October it was received in Shanghai !
It was censored , but it reached Shanghai in Kitay ( the Russian name for
China).
Has Rosa K. read it?
Alma, of course, was isolated and not aware about the events in Czernowitz
and the impossibility of communications in Europe.
Waiting for more discoveries,
Irene

Czernowitzers...
In January I published - by courtesy of Peter Elbau - Alma Weiner's "Cry of
Desperation from Siberia via Shanghai to Czernowitz" at our ehpes.com Blog:

ai-to-czernowitz/
What a touching story, what a unique postcard! I have the privilege to
announce, that now, less than six weeks later, Alma Weiner's youngest
daughter, Ruth Wekstein (Weiner) from Israel, got in touch with me and so
I'm able to release several photos from the album of "The Abeles - Weiner
Family":

These contacts were facilitated by Jerome and Sidi Kassner, whose "Siberian
Memories" [in English!] are published at our ehpes.com Blog as well:

iberia/
Thank you all for your dedication and I'm looking very much forward to
meeting Ruth on the occasion of her scheduled visit to Düsseldorf in July
2013!
