[Cz-L] Links to Czernowitz

A friend send me th[ese] link[s]. I found two of them [that] would
interest our group.

Chernovitsy: Pages of Jewish history (in Russian). I have translated as
well as I could the note that accompanies the film.

>From the mavens on our list it would appear that the exodus of Jews from
Czernowitz was mostly concluded in 1946.
This shows otherwise.
        
CHERNOVTSY: PAGES OF JEWISH HISTORY
The film was made in 1996 with images of the years 1993-1996.Those were
the years of the end of the mass departure of the Jews from the city.

people; on 1991-1621 people; on 1992 -313 people; on 1993 - 224 people;
on 1994 448 people; on 1995 386 people; on 1996 - 407 people; on 1997 -
340 people; from January to June 1998 -131 people (Vikipedia)
        
The Jews were also leaving for America, Germany Australia and other
countries (no statistics available)
        
In the city where once the Jews were a third of the population there
remained only 800 people.
