[Cz-L]Project of Leo Baeck Institute regarding archives of Southern Bukovina (Romania)

Dear Czernowitzers,

The Leo Baeck Institute together with the Rothschild Foundation is
sponsoring an archival survey of documents related to the Jewish
history of southern Bukovina and southern Transylvania. The website
for the project will not be unveiled until the coming autumn, but you
may be interested in following the work of the archivists (one of
which is myself!) as we explore and document the archival holdings in
these regions. We will be making daily postings (during the week) of
our progress here:

We are based in Suceava and working on Bukovina until the start of
May, after which we will be working in southern Transylvania until
late July.

We look forward to your feedback and hope and anticipate that the
final product of this project will be useful to genealogists,
researchers, and local historians.

please understand that unfortunately we are quite overwhelmed with the
amount of work and are not able to undertake personal research
