I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Herrmann too. This is a most
surprising and heart warming story. Amazing how a Jewish woman growing up
in the States finds somewhere from crumbs of memory a way to such an
adventure!! and such Holy work to re-discover a forgotten past. Those
immigrants at the beginning of the 20th, century wanted to erase their past
and often their religious affiliation, discard-forget that Shtetl life and
misery they had suffered. A new world was what they wanted to conquer. I
often wonder if there had been no Israel would the Jews think as they do
today??
