[Cz-L] schmettentort

I received the following message from Caroline Marks - does anyone has a
recipe
for Schmettentort as she describes it? If so, please send it to me and I
will
add it to the Bukovina Cookbook for all to see and enjoy.

Hi Merle, found your Bukovina cookbooks online. My mother-in-law has been
searching for a recipe for schmettentort for years since her mother-in-law
died. She asked if we can ask around the community if people remember it
being made with layers of jam (apricot) also. And she recalls an almond
flavor (my father-in-law whose favorite cake it was passed away 12 years ago
before I met my husband but it was his and my sister-in-law's favorite
cake). Grateful for your response.
