Hardy, Thanks for the Magistrat...But in the Austrian times, there was on
the top of the tower an eagle, no 2 eagles , the Austrian
Double Eagle" (Doppeladler) I don't remember, I was just a baby...but not
a globe, may be the Sowiets put it, or in the last time the Ukrainians???
And you forgot to mention the watchman, who went around on the highest
balcony of the town, to look for a fire
somewhere ...Such an double eagle was also on the roof of the Hauptwache,
the Regiment in the Hauptstrasse, was located there, take a look on the
drawing of Roberto Righetti, the drawing from 1923, the double eagle is
still there, the Romanian forgot to take it off...
memory, they are passing too quick

Demeter and Aphrodite stand on the roof of the Art Museum - Ringplatz.
Across the street from the "Manisrak". You dont know ? The Magistrat.
The Rathaus . Council house. The Magistrat.
On top of the tower was a clock and a a globe made of brass.
Every hour of the day or night it would strike out the time.
" Hoert ihr Leut und lasst euch sagen ,
Unsre Uhr hat drei geschlagen."
The watchman on the ramparts would report.
Czernowitz had no ramparts or watchman.
Only a globe made of brass, high on the Manisrak.
On the Ringplatz in Czernowitz.
