Cornel is right. The restoration works started about three years ago. A new
roof was set up and parts of the facade were cleaned. Last year I saw that
the works were interrupted. We asked the guard who is still there and he
told us that there were disagreements between the Hasidim and the local
authorities about taxes. I imagine the solution they found now is to form an
organization that is exempt from taxes and is now the legal owner of the
former synagogue and residence of the Friedman family. If this would be
confirmed, it will be a step in the right direction, as Cornel said. I will
be there in April and August and will see what I can find out.

I have doubts Sadacora will be a second Uman, but there are already two new
hotels in the town.
