Tante Shifre and Meshulim Friedman , famous for their restaurant at the Russischegasse nº 4. When the Soviet Union took over Czernowitz they were deported as capitalists to Siberia. After the war, my mother Genia wrote to Stalin and asked to let them go. Stalin died. So she wrote to Beria. At the end she succeded.
Meshulim in Israel
Bubi group
Bubi Friedman, my cousin, son of Ana and Burech. He extracted the bullet from aunt Saly (Tuki) Schärf. (See Transnistria). At the end of WWII, a Russian soldier killed him.
Paul, son of Meshulim. his wife Adela, son Hari. Meshulim had such a miserable time in his sons house that Lucca's grandfather "adopted" him and he lived his last years with this family. Photo from Israel.
