Funny how some "political" discourse is OK and some is not.My view is that
Antonescu is legitimate and political discourse for this Group. So was my
September correspondence regarding the celebration of Czernowitz at 600
years, although I was - very politely - asked to avoid politics by the
moderator, and not as nicely criticized by others for indulging.

The "politics" of what was and what is Czernowitz and the "political"
concerns of Czernowitzers and their descendants, in years long past and now,
is part of the identity of Czernowitz and Czernowitzers. I have letters from
1939-42, some of which make your hair stand on end - and it is part of what
defines me. Some members of this Group may not care for this stuff, but
Czerrnowitz was a City of individuals and not ciphers.

I think more of this sort of discourse is appropriate. Because the Group is
moderated, it should be fairly easy to CATAGORIZE correspondence so all are
included, but none are offended. Perhaps this topic is worth some discussion
to see what sort of consensus exists.
