[Cz-L] Re: czernowitz-l digest: October 22, 2007

Dear Yossi & Fred,
Further to your discussion on the fate of Jews returning to
Czernowitz after the war: My mother & grandmother walked from
Moghilev-Podolsky to Czernowitz after the liberation (my father was
drafted into the Red Army). When they arrived at the Prut, they were
denied entrance into Czernowitz. They got across the "Little Prut"
by paying someone to take them across at night. I had heard this
story many times for 50+ years before my mother's death.
