After the letter from Czernowitz ,letting us know that they do not really
know anything as to the fate of the gravestones , we diverge into
academics
as to the stone's provenance.
Interesting, as it may prove, this was not what alerted our worries.
The locals ,used to this attitude for decades , are more realistic.
I, naively, think that the stones should go to the cemetery, where
they built a wall of smashed stones showing some dignity.
Otherwise they will go to the garbage dump or used as pavement
elsewhere.
