Greetings,

I have just compiled my new list of over 1,200 former synagogues in NYC,
i.e. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. I found a listing
for a former synagogue on 62 Pitt Street in Lower Manhattan, and I am
wondering whether it was of a Czernowitz society. Listed below are various
society names, all associated with the synagogue at this address. Whether
they all owned or used the synagogue at different times, jointly, i.e. at
the same time, or not, I don't know. Perhaps someone else knows. Here are
the various names of societies, etc. I can tell you that the Sondowa society
probably is associated with the town of Sudwaya Vishnya in the Ukraine:

Chevrah Agudath Achim Anshei Fishers

Chevrah B'nai Jacob Anshei Czernovey

Sondowa Wiszia First Society

Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year,
