[Cz-L] a short hello to my Czernowitzer friends

Yesterday afternoon I met Gaby Rinzler and his lovely wife.
They are on a cruise through the Mediterranean and took the trouble to phone and ask if we can get together. I was picked up by their hostess, a pleasant woman and a friend of long standing. I myself have never met them before, our contact was via internet and all I knew was that we have the same hometown, Czernowitz.

Now I know much more. They both live in Florida in a retirement home, they are both medical doctors.

The amazing thing is that you find yourself face to face with people you have never met before and suddenly you seem like old friends.
The conversation flows mainly in German, Rumanian, English and some Hebrew, and one cannot believe that all you have with each other is just that one magic and unforgotten city, Czernowitz.

We spent a very nice afternoon. Incidentally, I came home without my voice - I had talked so much!

I am on my way to Germany for a short visit (10 days) with my son and daughter-in-law who live right next to Frankfurt. I pack some sweaters because while here it is still summer-hot, who knows what the weather is like there?
