Dear Gabriele and members of the Cz.-List,

I would like to comment on the other group which was in Czernowitz
at the same time as the Czernowitz 2007 Reunion.

There indeed was such a group. It was organized by an Israeli tour
organizer. Because his was a commercial venture, I initially wanted
to keep our programs separate, but realizing that some people might feel
more comfortable traveling to Chernivtsi with an organized tour, I notified
him of our program and told him that members of his group were welcome to
participate in our discussion session, provided they each paid the fee
for participating in the reunion.

I believe that none did participate in the discussions because they
mostly were not English speakers. They stayed at the hotel Bukovina.
Amongst them were two of my relatives, who told me that they were all
very satisfied with their tour. They all did come to the memorial service
we held at the Jewish cemetery on the Sunday morning.

As to the reunion; as I wrote, I resigned from the committee because of
disagreements over the program. I do not wish to apportion blame or to have
this become a fight. I stand by what I wrote, neither Danny nor Bruce Reisch
are to blame.

I hope that we Czernowitzers will continue to stay in contact, meet when
possible and cooperate on matters which concern us in our desire to learn,
talk and reminisce about our and our ancestors shared past.

Alles Beste, herzliche Grusse,

Mimi
