Dear List members and those living in Israel in particular,
In anticipation of the Bukowina Reunion which is to take place in Israel
this month, I would like to repeat a request I made last June, after the
2006 Czernowitz Reunion.
The following is a copy of a letter I sent to the list last year:
> From: Miriam Taylor <mirtaylo_at_indiana.edu>
> Date: Mon, 05 Jun 2006 07:43:08 -0400 (EDT)

> While in Chernivtsi during the "Czernowitz 2006 Reunion", some of us were
> lucky enough to visit the local school N41. This is a Jewish school and the
> students have the opportunity to study Hebrew. We visited a class of eager
> bright students and it gave me great pleasure to talk to them. From my own
> studies of foreign languages, I am convinced that reading for pleasure, a
> language one is studying, is very helpful in speeding up the process of
> learning.
>
> I would like to ask, that any of you who have Hebrew novels and short
> stories suitable for young people age 12 - 17, which you no longer want,
> please send them to:
>
> School N41
> Sherbak O.D.
> Shkilna St. 2
> Chernivtsi
> Ukraine
>
> If you want more information about the school, write to:
>
> <olia41_at_ukr.net>
It has occurred to me that such books could be collected at the Bukowina
Reunion, if one of you would kindly offer to collect the books and mail them
to the school. I will gladly pay for the cost of shipping the books.
Shabbat Shalom and enjoy the rest of the Passover holiday,
Mimi
