Dear Friends:
After reading Bruce's original message about the availability of the Jewish
records for Czernowitz and Sadagora I ordered 3 microfilms at the local Family
History Library on March 27th. The 3 arrived last Wednesday (May 9th) so
there appears to be a much longer wait then usual for ordered microfilms.
I was able to get:
=Births 1871-1881
=Births 1906-1907
=Marriage Index 1877-1917, Marriages 1927-1929
>From what I have seen the quality of the microfilming is quite good and the
records are easy to follow even for someone like me with no knowledge of
German. I've been able to translate most of the documents using an electronic Euro
Interpreter. The few things I can't translate is not a problem of the
Interpreter but a problem in my ability to read the Gothic German and get the correct
spelling of the words. I have already found the marriage record for a great
uncle and aunt and birth records for a couple of cousins.
