Czernowitzers:
If you look at our home page, just below the picture, you will see a link
to a search function for searching our website 'czernowitz.eheps.com'.
Click on the link and you will be able to type in a search string to
search all of 'ehpes.com'.
Thus if you were interested, for example, to find material from Lucca
Ginsburg, you could simply type in 'lucca'. You should come up with most
of her photos and writings along with some (not all) posts in the
archives. If you were interested in just photos, you could type in 'photo'
and come up with most all of our photographs.
Works well with names, places, subjects, email addy's, etc.... names in
the Family Finder or materials posted by members. It's actually pretty
slick! I wish I could take credit for it, but it's all done with google
magic! It's not infallible though... if it doesn't turn up in the search,
it doesn't mean it's not on the site; it may mean that google just hasn't
indexed it yet or maybe never will.
Anyway, all this came about by virtue of the fact that I was having
trouble finding things on the website when I needed to work on them. There
are almost 15,000 files now, so this was my solution. Hopefully you'll get
some use from it too.
Finally, if you use this function, you'll see that www.ehpes.com is an
assemblage of several web sites, including ours (czernowitz.ehpes.com),
the old 'DizzyWeb' (dizzyweb.ehpes.com), my Podhajce site
(podhajce.ehpes.com), and Jules Levin's site teaching you how to read
Cyrillic (learn-cyrillic.ehpes.com) and so on.
If you have an interesting web project that needs a home, I may be able to
provide it (no political, commercial, charity stuff or rants). Just email
me describing what you want to do and we can discuss it.
That's it,
jerome
