As part of my effort to make available more information of interest to
Czernowitz researchers, I have just put online within my virtual museum
website a list of more than 1,400 people who are buried in the nine
Czernowitz landsmanshaftn society plots located in New York City and
vicinity. This is a complete list of all those who are buried in New York
Czernowitz plots. This is the first time I've actually listed full names,
dates of death, cemetery and society names, though my overall cemetery
database has grown to over 200,000 names. It should be pretty easy to view
my Czernowitz list, as it is alphabetical. The page is a bit large, so
hopefully those of you with very slow computers won't have to wait long to
download the page.

I haven't yet listed the dates of death for the two plots at Beth David and
Wellwood cemeteries, but hope to do so in the near future. These are the
only two plots I currently have matzevot photographs for.

Hope this new material will be of use to you.

I am still actively working on my future Czernowitz exhibition, having
already made decent progress, but of course I can still use your assistance.

I most importantly still welcome any materials/descriptions about family
life in Czernowitz (before, during or after the two world wars) that you
think others who visit this exhibition would like to see.

As a side note, though I don't think I have any kin from Czernowitz, there
is an Anna Lasky (d. 1950) in one of the Czernowitz plots, so who knows?
