Czernowitzers -- Chanukah greetings to you from the entire staff at
www.ehpes.com !
1. I have posted a new album of old photos and postcards harvested
from the internet (Volume III), about 200 images. If you have been
keeping up with Gruss_Cz,
http://community.livejournal.com/gr_czernowitz/ you've probably seen
most of this, but for those that haven't, this is for you! I'm sure
there are a few duplicates, but hopefully not too many. To have a
look, go to:
http://czernowitz.ehpes.com and select 'Czernowitz Postcards' from
the menu. Then select the last item on the page.
I'm using a new photo album creation programme, so things will look a
little different. Let me know if you have difficulty navigating with
it. It's now far easier for me to maintain the content of an album, do
the captions (if there are any), etc. now then before.
2. More improvements... The archives are being updated every few days
now instead of once or twice a month. I guess my computer crash was a
good thing after all -- it led me to trying to simplify the work-flow,
so now the archives are more easily maintained.
3. More photos added to Josef Skilnik's family album. From the home
page menu, select 'Pre 1945 Czernowitz Photographs' and look for
Joseph's album. Maybe you recognize some of the 'unknowns'?
4. The FamilyFinder has been updated (mostly email address changes).
Much more coming soon including an album of hundreds of excellent
photos of present day Czernowitz from Edward Turkiewitch (a.k.a.
Edward Tur); plus an album of his 'past and present photos'; more
photos from list members; a new section on 'Czernowitzer Art'; and The
Memoirs of Gerhard Schreiber (our newest member). It's all in the
queue.
Of course more material is always welcome... photos, documents,
memoirs, trip reports, artwork. Just email me romers_at_shaw.ca and tell
me what you have.
Best,
jerome
