Pincas...
Thrilling story! Checking the Czernowitzer newspaper "Der Tag", released between 1932 - 1935, online available at
http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.de/
and entering "Jawetz" into the search engine of the archives for "Der Tag" at
http://dertag.forenworld.com/index.php
we get at least the following two entries for "Jawetz":
09.11.1933: Jawetz was one of the speakers at the social democrtaic regional conference.
16.93.1934: Oiser Jawetz, having a son abroad, was a major creditor, as claimed by a debtors conference in Czernowitz.
Enjoy the coverage!
