If I remember well, we started disembarking the boat in the afternoon of
31/12/47. We reached the compound of the "summer camps" in the evening. We
went through the DDT disinfection procedure, and it started to rain heavily.
It became midnight which was actually New Year 1948. Each group of eight
people received a folded tent. Because we were very tired, because of the
rain, and because we did not have experience in setting up tents, we spread
a part of the tent on the wet ground, covered ourselves with the other part,
and tried to catch some sleep. In the morning the veterans of the camp came,
allocated our group an area area where to set up our tents. We set up the
tents, and began yet another chapter as camp prisoners.
