[Cz-L] 380 new cards and photos posted

Czernowitzers...

A few months ago I started collecting the old Bukovina/Czernowitz photos
and postcards from the 'Gruss aus Czernowitz' community of the Live
Journal website: http://community.livejournal.com/gr_czernowitz/ .

For those who have not been visiting that site, there are daily posts of
stunning photographs of modern day Czernowitz along with the older
materials that I've been collecting. Some of our list members are regular
posters of pictures and commentary there. Most of the conversation is in
Ukrainian, but there are threads in English and German, and if asked most
posters will respond in English.

The gr_czernowitz community certainly has shown no hesitation about
posting materials from our website without attribution, and I have taken
that as license to collect from theirs without attribution.

My purpose in collecting the older materials is that the archives of the
gr_czernowitz site seem to be flushed from time to time; that is, the
materials may not be forever available. Thus, I felt it appropriate to
give the materials that have genealogical significance a more visible and
permanent home.

There are now two volumes of albums on our site: Volume I with 199 images
and Volume II just posted, with 380 images.

Go to http://czernowitz.ehpes.com and select 'Czernowitz Postcards' from
the menu on the left. The last two items on the index page will take you
to the two volumes of images.
