Dear Ms. Prout,

Thanks for your encouraging E-mail.
As you may have noted, there has been some discussion in our E-mail list
as to the best way to display the Jewish-Czernowitz memorabilia in our
possession. Jerome Schatten, the master of our website, correctly stated,
that the photographs and documents currently displayed on the website,
would loose clarity if copied and printed as photographs to be displayed
in the suggested exhibit. He therefore thinks that a slide show would be
preferable. Should a slide show not be feasible and in consideration of
a possible permanent display in a museum set up for this purpose,
I believe that those of us who donated the copies of photographs,
documents and letters to the website, would be willing to send
new copies to you or to Ms. Filatova.

I personally, am certainly willing to do so and I have much additional
material which I could copy and send you.

At the same time, I doubt that many of us would be willing to send you any
original material. These photographs, documents and letters are of great
emotional importance to us and since we are talking so far, only about a
temporary exhibit in a building which does not have archival quality storage
facilities, our concern for the preservation of these materials is
justified.

Should you and Ms. Filatova decide that you would like us to send you copies
of any relevant materials we may have in our possession, please let us know
what kind of copies you would like. Would scanned material sent by E-mail
be acceptable? Would you prefer printed photocopies sent by post?
Would you like those of us who have relevant material, first send you a list
of the items in our possession?

Many thanks for your interest and work on this project,

Sincerely,

Miriam (Mimi) Taylor
