Dear Hardy,
I unfortunately do not know the Kultusgemeinde well.
I have been in the building 3 times, but do not remember the rooms well
and do not know exactly which room they intend to use.
It is possible that those organizing the exhibition, will suit the
exhibition to the space available, or alternatively find a suitable space
for the exhibition they have in mind.
I do not feel qualified to advise the organizers whether they should
choose a slide show, or a photographic exhibit. This is a matter
for them to decide.
As to the type and quality of photographs and documents, in our possession:
True, that most of us have old studio family photographs, but some of us
also have documents, street scene and general city views photographs.
At least I do. In addition to the documents which are posted on the Ephes
site, I have school certificates, census documents and business papers.
My father was an excellent amateur photographer, he used a Leica
and while I do not have the negatives, the photographs are printed
on acid-free paper and have remained in very good condition.
In addition there are copies of the Czernowitz Morgenblatt in the archival
library in Bucharest, copies of the Yiddishe Arbeiter Zeitung in the
Zionist archives in Jerusalem and the central library in Te-Aviv.
The many books which have been published about Czernowitz, also contain
interesting photographs, which with the permission of the publishers and,
or authors could also be used.
Whether as a slide show, or a photographic exhibit, this could be a
marvelous exhibition. But it requires us to do much of the work.
We either have the resources (photographes, documents, etc.) or know where
to find them. I believe that there are about 200 members of this list.
If each of us would devote 5 hours to this project, we would put in
1000 hours, or the equivalent of 125 8-hour work-days. This is an amount,
or length of time the Czernivtsi authorities in charge of this project are
unlikely to be able to devote to this project.

"If you want it, it is not a dream".

> The building also has a gate from the Heine (Steinbarg now) street.
> The question is how much wall space they allocate for the museum.

> But these are the options.
