You're right, the couple I wrote about are the Hackens. The Hackens, for the
last years of their life, lived in the same buiding with me, we got very
often together. Vera, in her later years, reworked prev ious German translations
of very famous Yiddish authors (like I.L. Perez, Shalom Ash, etc.), for the
"Die Goldene Pawe" in "Edition Weilbrecht". The hotel was the " Hotel
Gottlieb", and the restaurant the "Splendid" both located in str. Bucurestilor
(Postgasse).
