Edgar, Peter and all that worked to make these documents and background
materials available; THANK YOU ALL! History has come alive here and
been made available to all...

Certainly, you have nailed the operative word 'alleged' in the response,
which speaks volumes about the politics in play in that day. That said,
it is of interest (to me at least) that they straight-up said that they
would not be taking any action.

Today, of course, it would be worded '...we will take your comments and
concerns under advisement' (and still do nothing). Maybe it's the
'linguistics of colonial times, but I come away thinking that more
honesty prevailed in earlier days.

Again, most interesting!
