Dear Christian,
Thank you for sending us the link to the "Welt" article. I would like
to draw you attention to the following sentence: " How empty and without
soul this Czernowitz must have been, after the Jews, Roma, Romanians and
Poles were deported, enslaved and murdered, and the Germans
brought back home to the Reich". This might have escaped your attention.
The author, Mr. Heilingsetzer, is totally mistaken or unsuficially
informed. The Romanian Government under Antonescu was a reliable ally of
Nazi Germany. The Romanians were not deported but organized the Ghetto
and carried out the deportation of the Jews to Transnistria.
This is the historic truth and I would like to ask you to write to the
author and draw his attention to this fact.
