Being the one, who recently wrote that this list was established as a
"discussion group for information exchange on the subject of
Czernowitz and Sadagora Jewish History and Genealogy", I would like
to clarify what I meant and prevent a long and tedious correspondence
about the interest or lack of it in Genealogy.
This list was established by Bruce Reisch for the purpose I quoted
above.
As more people joined the list, who had actually lived in Czernowitz,
the topics of discussion widened to include a larger view of "history".
I think that most list members were in favor of this expansion and Bruce
did not think that we had strayed from the original purpose of the list.
I think it is right and proper of Bruce, to prevent us straying far from
the stated intended topics of this list and decide what is civil
language
and what is not.
