Hi Anna! When I was there some years ago I went to a Yom Hashoa ceremony
at the cemetery,organized by Rav Kofmanski. Apart from a large group of
adult/elderly people there were a good number of Jewish school kids and
young adults,from 16-17 year old upwards.Knowing Jewish educational
aspirations I am quite sure some of these were University material! I also
met a Jewish member of the City Council. The Soviets are completely
gone,together with Stalin's paranoia.....but there are still Jews. Cornel

I will not argue about present state of things at the University
I am glad that the Botany Dep. is succeeding. After all, Bukovina (named
after a tree) is a rich agricultural region. Looks like they are investing
in research. As for the Soviet policies gone, so did the Jews. So there is
no ethnic restriction today. No need.
