On one of my tours I met a Jew from Galizia.
>From a Shtetl where the Jews were driven into the synagogue and
then put on fire.

The man collected money all over the world to restore the synagogue
and place a memorial plate for the Jews burnt alive.
   He was successful ,
On the inauguration day many Jews came .
My man also invited the Shtetl mayor, who was very cooperative
friendly and helpful , to attend and maybe give a speech...
The mayor said : "No this I cant do - next month we have elections
I am a candidate. If I come to the inauguration of the plate ,
I can forget being elected, please understand ."
Our man tried again but nothing helped.
            Then our man understood.
I hope we all will understand.

Subject: [Cz-L] In Zhovkva you can learn about diversity

Dear all,

There is a new blog post in Vanished World: During my visit in October 2012,
Zhovkva turns out to be an extraordinary beautiful place. As the nearby Lviv
(Lwow, Lemberg), the town’s streets tell about the multiethnic past of
Galicia – in a smaller scale than the imposing Lviv. The town has a
touristic future. Jewish, Ukrainian and Polish heritage would be part of it.
Including one of the most beautiful synagogues in Galicia.

Warm wishes and Happy Passover!
Christian
