Dear Edgar,
Wow! I am deeply moved by your remarks about my translation, thank you. On the
other hand, I congratulate you for the idea of adding Aurel Baranga's photo to
the poem.
I might have another one to share with the List members, but at this moment
can't find it.
After my return from Panama, where I will deliver a few speeches on YomHashoah,
I will have more time to search all my archives.
Happy Passover,
Fondly,
Ruth

Subject: RE: [Cz-L] Poetry
Czernowitzers...
Ruth Gold brought to all of us the most impressive poem "Transnistria" written
by Aurel Baranga (Aurel Leibovici) and - over and above - Ruth's translation of
Aurel Baranga's poem is much more than a translation, it is a most sensitive
interpretation and therefore it is at least so moving as the original Romanian
poem itself.
Adding a previously undisclosed photo of Aurel Baranga (Aurel Leibovici) •
1913-1979, I've published both, Aurel Baranga's Romanian poem and Ruth Gold's
English translation at our ehpes.com Blog:
http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=6263
Enjoy this piece of JEWelry and "stay tuned" for more poetic discoveries to come
soon!
